Why (Muslim) Women Become Feminists

As a married Muslim woman, I truly believe in upholding women’s responsibilities in the household, I personally do. I understand how the nurturing nature of a mother goes a long way in raising great, wise, sensible heirs to our legacy.

I also believe in the role of the men of the family in molding the characteristics of their children. I’d like my children to have a father who attends to their growth, confer his wisdom, as well as be physically and emotionally present at home. Let’s face it. There is a reason why different people are built differently in terms of character and basic instincts. So both men and women can contribute to a household in various different but interchangeable ways, depending on each spouse’s strengths and weaknesses.
