I can’t remember the days where I can read the news without having to read anything about women being raped or abused or sexually assaulted. I particularly remember one case where a female teacher was killed by her fiancé for simply asking him to marry her. And the words that the media used to describe her? “Pushy”, “demanding” and “provoking”. The public’s reaction was no better. Unfortunately, victim blaming is pretty normal in our society.
